07 Dec Is Lasik 100% safe for normal eyes with far-distance corrected vision?
No.
LASIK is surgery and no surgical procedure is 100% risk-free. With very rare exceptions, LASIK patients are extremely happy with their results. Side effects and complications are exceptionally rare. But that does not mean LASIK is totally safe. Nor does a complication mean the doctor did something negligent. The decision to have LASIK done should involve an in-depth discussion with your doctor about possible risks, benefits, and alternatives. You cannot honestly be told you are a good candidate by simply looking at your glasses prescription.
