Is it true that people with myopia need reading glasses later than those with normal eyesight?

Not really. If you are myopic (nearsighted) and wear contact lenses, there is virtually no difference in the blurred near vision from presbyopia compared to somebody without myopia. If you are myopic, however, taking off your glasses can provide better near vision than when the glasses were being worn. However, then you cannot see off at a distance! The argument is not really an “apples to apples” situation.
