Vuity® is the brand name for a medical eye drop recently FDA approved to reduce the blurry near vision caused by presbyopia in middle-aged adults.

The active ingredient in Vuity® is a very old ocular medicine once used to treat glaucoma: pilocarpine. But the concentration (1.25%) is much lower than the 4% version we used to use 30 years ago.

Vuity® is only available by prescription in the U.S. because there is a possibility of side effects, particularly in the retina, that only your eye doctor can detect. Once you and your eye doctor have determined that using Vuity® is safe and effective for you, frequent return visits will not be necessary however.
