What was scarier, wisdom tooth extraction or LASIK surgery?

I imagine that would depend on what you fear more: pain or surgical complications that could affect your vision. Wisdom tooth extraction is definitely more uncomfortable while it is being done. It also causes more post-operative pain and swelling. But a wisdom tooth is a totally expendable body part for most people.

LASIK is easier, quicker, and causes much less discomfort typically. The fear on most patients’ part is “what if something goes wrong and I am left blind.” Blindness from LASIK is almost completely unknown. But that does not mean there are no risks. Even a slight compromise to one’s vision can be an ongoing problem for many years to come. That is why it is so important you go to somebody who is deeply involved in the process and not a “LASIK mill.”

Having had both done, as well as being an eye surgeon, I found the LASIK much easier.
